Urban Revitalization

Clinton has new Tax Abatement incentives for renovating homes, building new homes, multi-residential and commercial renovations and new commercial construction:

  • Plan A - 100% exempt for 5 years on additions up to $75,000 in added value - City-wide residential housing was adjusted to line up with the State Code (100% for 5 years for up to $75,000 in added value).
  • Plan B - 100% exempt for 5 years on new construction on residential - A separate exemption was created for blighted or "redevelopment subareas" of the City. This exemption is for residential real estate and is 100% of added value for five years (no cap). This is only for areas of town designated as blighted (reference the maps and legal descriptions).

Plan C - 100% exempt for 5 years on new additions on multi residential and commercial no cap in value added- There has been no change to the existing exemptions for multi-residential (remains 100% on value added for 5 years).

Plan D - 100% exempt for 3 years on new construction on commercial - There has been no change to the existing exemptions for select commercial areas (remains 100% of value added for 3 years for the select areas).
