Solid Waste, Recycling and Yard Waste Collection

The Public Works Department is responsible for the collection of City-owned solid waste (garbage), recycling and yard waste carts from residential properties.

Collection Schedules

Solid waste/garbage carts (grey carts) are collected on a weekly basis from residential properties. Recycling carts (blue carts) are collected every other week from residential properties. Yard waste carts (green carts) are collected on a weekly basis from residential properties from the first week in April until the last week of November (or with the first significant snowfall or prolonged temperatures below freezing). 

Annual Collection Delays

No garbage or recycling pickup on January 1st when the 1st falls on a weekday. Collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Memorial Day

No garbage, recycling or yard waste collection on the last Monday of May. Collections will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Monday's routes will be collected on Tuesday; Tuesday's routes will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday's routes will be collected on Thursday; Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday; Friday's routes will be collected on Saturday. 

4th of July

No garbage, recycling or yard waste collection on the 4th of July when the 4th falls on a weekday. Collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Labor Day

No garbage, recycling or yard waste collection on Monday. Collections will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Monday's routes will be collected on Tuesday; Tuesday's routes will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday's routes will be collected on Thursday; Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday; Friday's routes will be collected on Saturday.

Thanksgiving

No garbage, recycling or yard waste collection on Thursday. Collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.  Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday; Friday's routes will be collected on Saturday. 

Christmas Day

No garbage or recycling pickup on December 25th when the 25th falls on a weekday. Collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
