Through a partnership with the University of Iowa, the Iowa Initiative for Sustainable Communities students in the School of Planning and Public Affairs completed a 2023 Housing Needs Analysis and Housing Strategies Report for the City of Clinton. In addition to the report, students also completed a presentation.
The assessment evaluates both housing needs and housing availability, determining the number and types of new units needed to accommodate needs, as well as other factors like vacancy, housing quality, rental needs, and more. Housing Needs Assessments are useful to housing developers and support applications to funding programs, such as Iowa’s Workforce Housing Tax Credit program.
